Throughout the day, various group and individual activities are offered to our Residents. Programs are designed to promote self-expression, creativity and communication. During these programs they enjoy the opportunity to express themselves and their talents.

Open verandas, adjacent to all the dayrooms, allow residents, during the summer, to relax in silence, in fresh air, enjoying cold drinks, and observing the surrounding nature.

Piano concerts and performances improve the lives of our residents, allow them to remember the past and sing songs of their youth together with the artists!

  At TFRNC, food is much more than just an addition to life. Continental cuisine and traditional American dishes are always on our menu. Our chefs are able to satisfy the culinary preferences of our Residents for as long as medically permitted.

Our Registered Dietitian plans and monitors meals. The dishes are always nutritious, tasty, and correspond to the doctor's prescription. This dietitian constantly ensures that all the Residents’ wishes regarding food are fulfilled whenever possible.

For our Residents' convenience, breakfast is served in their rooms. Lunch, which is the main meal of the day, is served in the dining room located on the Upper Level. Residents themselves choose where to dine - either in the dining room or in their rooms. Residents who need assistance with feeding, as a rule, eat in the dining room with the aid of staff. For those who wish to, can eat on the verandas, which offer wonderful views of the green hillsides, magnolia trees, and watch the life of nature.

Our residents receive coffee, tea and snacks throughout the day and evening.

  Under the leadership of the Medical Director and the Director of Nursing, the nursing staff provides comprehensive qualified medical care 24 hours a day.

Our team includes experienced nurses - RNs and LPNs – and certified nursing assistants – CNAs. We are a multilingual establishment with staff who are fluent in English, Russian, Ukrainian, Creole/French, Spanish, Tagalog and Hindi-Malayalam.

Services provided at TFRNC by a team of professionals and consultant practitioners include: periodic examinations, diagnostic testing, intravenous therapy, medication selection and treatment, podiatrist, dental and ophthalmology services, and visits of other specialists as needed. All equipment is used as prescribed. 

  The Department of Social Services provides psychological and emotional support and assistance to Residents and their families. 

This department is made up of certified social workers and serves the needs of all Residents.

The social worker is the liaison between the Resident, his/her family and health services.

We encourage resident-family interaction and encourage both participants to attend family councils.

Housekeeping

It is our Facility Service Team's goal to provide a clinically-safe environment while utilizing carefully devised processes, practices, and systems that are designed to reduce the spread of infections.  We use technologies such as an ATP swabbing machine that identifies bacteria on high touch surface areas and an ultraviolet light that is proven to destroy 99.99% of surface & airborne pathogens in a 1,000 foot room in just 15 min.

Maintenance:

We stay regulatory-ready at all times keeping up with the Department of Health, New York State and OSHA requirements.  Our maintenance program consists of, but is not limited to, daily preventive maintenance, work order management, failure analysis, equipment management etc. It is our goal to provide a safe working environment for our employees and safe facility for our Residents. 

Laundry:

We provide an in-house laundry area where we operate an effective linen and laundry service that is vital to patient care. 

Our overall facility Program strives to provide you with that peace of mind when it comes to safety and infection control so you can focus on what really matters most. 

Catholic Mass is celebrated on premise monthly, and on Christmas and Easter; communion is distributed by Eucharistic Ministers on Sundays and as requested. Arrangements can be made to ensure that spiritual needs are met for Residents of other faiths – families/friends may contact the Activity Department for such arrangements..

Russian Orthodox Church services are held on premise and more frequently transmitted from St. Sergius of Radonezh Russian Orthodox Church to the main Resident dining room. This allows Residents to actively participate in spiritual life even if they are unable to be taken to nearby St. Sergius Church. For Residents able to attend services in Church, arrangements must be made for accompaniment by either a staff or family member.

    Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies are available to Residents who, upon assessment, are identified as candidates for restoration of function or improvement in functional capabilities through adaptive skills training.

The Rehabilitation Services Department is made up of the Occupational Therapist who is the department head, and the Physical 

Therapist, Speech and Audiology Therapists, and Rehabilitation Assistants.
This group of professionals is dedicated to improving the quality of life of its patients and Residents, both short-term and long-term in residency.
